Construction Updates

Since Southwark Council granted planning consent earlier this year, we’ve been working closely with the council and community stakeholders to finalise our construction plans. We’re pleased to confirm that enabling works began in August 2025, with main construction works set to begin in February 2026. The website will be regularly updated and you can see detailed monthly activity on the Project Timeline page under “next steps”.

Here, you’ll find the latest information about the construction programme, including upcoming activity on site, key milestones and any temporary changes to the local area such as footpath closures or periods of noisy works.

We’re committed to keeping the local community informed and minimising disruption wherever possible. Measures in place include noise, dust and vibration monitoring, acoustic barriers around noisy activities, trained traffic marshals, dust suppression and regular road sweeping and wheel washing of construction vehicles before they leave site.
